Is it possible to put a Supermicro Node X9DRT-HF+ in a 6027TR-HTRF chassis? Yes, it is:)

It looks like it should fit, though you would need to swap the metal motherboard carrier as well since the X9DRT-HF+ has a different rear IO layout.

Ok, I made some pictures.

This is how the connector looks like.

Maybe it is possible to put this connector in a + node? Here a picture of the connection with the board.

Even better of course if I can just slide the + node in this chassis and after reading the manuals one more time it might be possible. On the left the text from the non-plus server and on the right the plus server.

The SuperServer 6027TR-HTQRF/HTFRF/HTRF is a high-end server comprised of two main subsystems: the SC827HQ-R1620B 2U server chassis and the X9DRT-HIBQF/HIBFF/HF dual processor serverboard in four hot-swap nodes. The SuperServer 6027TR-HTRF+/H70RF+/H71RF+ is a high-end server comprised of two main subsystems: the SC827HQ-R1620B 2U server chassis and the X9DRT-HF+ dual processor serverboard in four hot-swap nodes.

So they use the same chassis:)

I hope anybody with a SuperServer 6027TR-HTRF+/H70RF+/H71RF+ can give the final verdict.

Both the 6027TR-HTFRF and the 6027TR-HTRF+ do have the BPN-SAS-827HQ SAS Backplane installed in which the nodes are connected for power and other stuff.

So I'm pretty confident it will fit.

I will look for a node here and on ebay, should be able to find one in NL or a country near by:)

Update: I bought a X9DRT-HF+ with a damaged add-on-card port so at least I could try it :)

And yes, it is possible to put a X9DRT-HF+ motherboard in a 6027TR-HTRF chassis.

Without an IO-shield it looks like this.

Should insert some 'I don't know what they are called' in the node for motherboard mounting screws.

All fine at the back.

Do I like this + board? Not really. It has more DIMM slots but the CPUs are getting hotter and it misses a port for a riser and a SATA drive. In the non-plus boards I have installed an M.2 SSD (with room for another one) to boot from, like this.

So I'll sell this motherboard and buy a good old X9DRT-HF (without the +) to finally complete my server :)
