In Win products aren’t widely sold here in the US. They only have three distributors, Newegg being reasonably priced but only carrying the MS04 SATA backplane version. Speaking of MS04, In Win mentioned to me that they have a new version with a 12G backplane that isn’t widely advertised yet.

I forgot to ask: What HSF are you using for your MS08? It’s a slimmer chassis so I’m not sure if a Noctua NH-U12S fits. A 65mm HSF looks like it’ll fit fine but of course, a beefier cooler is nice for a Ryzen build to hit those sweet PBO clocks.

I'm using an NH-L9i currently, and my new build will be using a NH-L9x65 SE-AM4 to begin with at least.

From a quick shufti with the tape measure, the 16cm-tall NH-U12S won't fit into the 17cm-wide MS08, there's about a centimetre too much HSF.

@EffrafaxOfWug At first I did a double take on the NH-L9 with your 3700X, but then I remembered that the 3700X has a 65W TDP. I typically like to use a larger HSF, so too bad the NH-U12S won't fit, the MS08 isn't that wide! I imagine a NH-U9S would fit just fine though, being 125mm height.

Thanks for the great review EffrafaxOfWug, just received my ms08. Looks sturdy. Mostly bought this one for the airflow and because it looks robust. SSP 300SUG will be placed, and i will replace all fans with noctua nf-a8. CPU cooling will be NH-u9s. If i find some time I will post some pictures. also splitters for the backplane power. should be sufficient as a drive nowadays just uses about 6-8 watts...

does this chassis SATA backplane support PWDIS v3.3 of the newer sata spec?

No idea from me I'm afraid - the drives I've had in this are the WD 10TB WD100EFAX and the Toshiba 10TB HDWG11A; TTBOMK neither of those support PWDIS.

Doesn't PWDIS support require the SATA power plug though, rather than the molex used on this backplane, or am I mis-remembering?
