Sorry, I've never had an M920x so I can't say for sure. I would be surprised if it didn't fit, I'm pretty sure all these Mx20 cases are a standard size, but <insert standard disclaimer here>.
Hi,

I ordered one so will report back.

Thanks

Also don't forget the GPU versions have a special heatpipe arrangement connected to the system fan.
Just read that, could be to make sure it stays quite. If I don't use it I can always put the lid on the firewall router to keep it cooler as this is my secondary pc.

Thanks

Got my i350-T4 on my M720Q installed with sophos xg firewall.

Edit: I forgot to mention I bought the baffle and 01AJ940 via superbuy and bought an upgraded power block from ebay.

I have a x550-t2 10gbe which I might try when I get chance.
Because of this, I am waiting to hear what kind of progress you have on this.

I would love to shove a 10gbe (preferably SFP+ like X710-DA2) in my m920q.

Here on the pictures of the m920x cover with top fan vent (which is meshed for dust protection) next to my M720Q cover. It can be used with the nvidia p1000/p620/p600 gpu card.

I can confirm the cover of the m920x fits fine on the m720q unit I have.

I don't have a nvidia p1000 yet so be able to fully test it do for the time being I added the cover to my other unit which has i350-T4 card installed.

I'll be trying out mellanox sfp+ nic in my p340 tiny when it comes. Will report on that. The pictures a5ian300zx posted show that pcie x16 riser P/N 01AJ940 you can get that for cheap on encompass if you're in US, that's a cool hack to avoid paying as much as $50 on ebay. And not pay lenovo for GPU if you don't need it. The point though is that it's very likely that only x8 is actually connected. Specs for p330, p340 specifically say it's x8 link only.

I have not tested it yet but might do a quick test in bridge mode (sophos xg) with the x550-t2 once I receive my nvme ssd drive.

Here is the pictures if anyone is interested.

Thanks
Ok this is exactly what I want! I've hacked together a solution with running my cable modem LAG into my switch , set it to a special VLAN then on a 10GB port set for dual mode - out to an old celeron box running an intel x520 single port. I fear this is fragile so running with an i350 card seems like the way to go.

I have an M920q running a Mellanox ConnectX-3 single port card and it's been just fine with ESXi 7+
It runs my OPNsense firewall and a few other perimeter security VM's.

Hasn't missed a beat so far :D

Ok, I did a quick install with sophos xg V18 on the tiny with x550-t2 nic and it picked it up fine. I did not actually configure it as I already have another installed in my system, but the fact that it picked it up say that it should work.

If I reconfigure my system in the future I will check it with 10gbe nic.

If anyone is interested here is the m720q lenovo tiny next to my fitlet2 for size comparison.

Low powers and Fanless device. Was running untangled on it without any issues.

My fitlet2 has the following spec
E3950 Atom processor
8gb ddr3l ram
128gb msata
2 x 1gb intel nic
1 x 1gb POE Lan Facet (can be used to power the device)
I think I have wifi card installed (can't remember)

Lenovo P350 tiny is out, with 11th gen intel support, pcie gen 4 and 3200MT/s RAM. Other than that seems to be identical to P340 tiny, PCIe slot is again x8-wide only. But it's gen 4 so again, more bandwidth available per lane. Specs are quite ambiguous about pcie so that may require some testing.
Hope to see this one reviewed!

I'm currently using P340 Tiny with two samsung 970 pro NVMe and dual port mlx3 ethernet card for iscsi and networking. Darn thing is QUIET, i don't know how they managed to create a fan so quiet but this thing just burns and rocks. And I still have 10700 lying around, after failed attempt to swap i3-10100t for xeon w-1290, I didn't try swapping CPU yet, performance-wise this is sufficient as of now, but Im ultimately planning to swap it out for 10700. Pretty sure it'll still be quiet. I mean even under stress load it wasn't louder than any of my laptops.

Just wanted to thank @Patrick for mentioning the TMM machines, I bought a OptiPlex 3040 to use as a seedbox. Undervolted, it's Celeron G3900T runs at 2.5W idle with Deluge open, headless.

Aaaand I acquired a i7-6700T. Paid €62,50 including shipping with the seller and I splitting the shipping costs.

Shit, all I need now is a 4TB SM883, that 960GB SM863 is getting very full.
