I'm trying to find a decent heatsink for an intel xeon max system I'm putting together. These processors have little wings that house an extra IC, slightly different from Gold/Platinum etc sapphire rapids chips.

I suspect any FCLGA4677 compatible heat will actually work, but I don't know. I probably missed the information on that.

Any suggestions? It is going in an open case, plenty of height. I'm good with used etc, just want to get something that isn't a hassle.

Thanks!

no, the Altera is just placed outside (space need for HBM)
you need only the E1C carrier.

My ASUS board didn't come with the E1C carriers so I had to buy them separately. I ran Dynatron S6's on my max's for awhile but tired of their noise (and not greate thermals) and switched to watercooling.

Don't forget the T_case on these CPUs is almost 20C lower than the other sapphire rapids CPUs so cooling needs to be very robust.

So looks like my mobo comes with it, mentions something about 3 different carriers: guessing 1 for max, 1 for platinum/gold/silver and maybe 1 for w series? Here's hoping!

Other part is I plan to run this in my unheated garage, so won't have to worry about temp for at the next 4 months or so. Thanks!
