Some companies will put high rates because they do not want to deal with the hassle of international sales. With free US shipping, at least you wouldn't be paying for shipping twice. If they won't budge, happy to help (or just use a commercial freight forwarder).

Most sellers on eBay are tied to eBay International Shipping, which is utterly expansive. I agree with @BlueFox ... get a freight forwarder.

Thanks for sharing this.
I put in an offer for 2 @ 183, seller countered with 195. I'd try 190 if anyone else is interested.

I have good experience with the guy that runs CPUShack/AVICC which can also be an option if you have a stubborn seller that doesn't do international shipping.

Yupp, can vouch for Cpushack and the services there. I have been active in the cpu-collecting community for 15 years, and used his services many times.

Was going to try and get one but they are all gone now just missed.
I think they'll have more. They said they have to pull the cpus from servers to get me the QTY I ordered. Probably pulled the listing because they don't want to get dinged by ebay for slow shipping.

That would be nice. I'm doubting it will happen though. The fastest CPU supported by a given motherboard commands a premium long after the platform is obsolete.
This is true.

And while we're on the subject, what the hell makes this worth $300 and why would anybody buy it??

That has 22 cores per CPU vs 18, has a higher clock speed.
However why anyone would buy that at the price is silly because it is defective it says.
