When is Intel going to produce a true workstation processor, paired with equally optimized motherboards?

I need ECC memory support, but the Xeon's appear to be more towards servers, and same with the motherboards.

What I want is a desktop motherboard + Xeon for lots of SATA ports, ECC memory, M2, display port, low TDP. There doesn't appear to be much out there for my type of usage. Or maybe Intel is going to release an updated Xeon E5-16XX processor?

+ An Intel E5-1650 v3 for sale... [thread in for sale section]

Not sure what you mean by "true workstation".
That CPU is 6 Cores @ 3.5ghz before turbo. The motherboard is sized, and geared toward workstation usage.

What exactly is "true workstation" that you're missing out from the above setup?
