Found this Listing from Sable?;)

Seems like a good deal for a 2U LGA 2011 r3 barebone.

Has a LSI 9361-8i equviland. 4 x 10GBe Ports 2 Base-t 2 SFP+ and a 36Port SAS 12GBs Expander.

But Only 12 Caddys.

Had a talk to the seller. Better be quik as they plan to Increse the Price, also they do not accept anny Offers jet not even free shippingo_O:

Hey,

We intended to sell one or two and then increase the price a bit. I currently have 10 of these, two 1u of these and two QuantaGrid D51B-2U, however, these are quite a bit more expensive, which is why i have not listed them yet.

I will wait till next week to accept best offers. I will sell the rails seperately @ 50 euro's per set.

Hey, thanks for linking my listing. But for any buyers from ServeTheHome, if you are looking for a brand new in box server, this is not for you. They have been used for testing and have been moved around a bit. Look at the eBay condition before you buy. These are from EMC so some information is diffrent from the intel website. I believe all information in the listing is correct so let me know if anything needs to be changed.

Also, thanks to Rand_ for helping me gather some information on the servers and included items.

For all users of ServeTheHome i will include a free rials set, so there you go Michathe. (NEW BUYERS: SEND ME A PM FOR THE FREE RAILS)

Ah those nice boxes again.
Wished I had need for them, those are really packed. And surprisingly silent if one does a soft reset after inital power on;)
Power utilization in idle is ~100W with a single CPU if anyone wonders (albeit might be slightly higher on those, measured mine w/o HBA irrc)

I just received my Unit.

I have to say these are preaty nice systems.

  • Bios hase a Password but this can easaly be resettet by a Jumper.
  • One Handle got bend in shipping. Nothing a hammer can´t fix.
  • System is very Quiet on the Acustic fan setting.
  • The Raid Controller has Keys for R5, R6 and Fast Path activatet.
  • Consumes, mesured at Memtest with one E5-2620V3 and 2 16GB Sticks of Ram, around 125W. 98W at Bios.
  • It seems like these Systems, or at lease mine does, have one NVME Backplane installed for up to 4 drives. So it schould be Possible to install some NVME drives in this system by adding a PCIe to U.2 adapter.

System flashed without issues to the latest Intel firmware.

I did not find enithing different to a normal Intel box yet. (Only the Handels)

I would hope that the Supermicro nvme adapters like the AOC-SLG3-4E4T are compatible... :)

They don't ? Let me check that.
Edit: Seems u r right. A bunch of the slots (in my similar box) are 16 physical but probably only 8 electrical, never noticed.

But then you still can do two 2E2T's (in x8's) which still would be cheaper than any intel hba I think

And the 2E4R is without PLX chip... would be great if they run (for their cheap price) but not sure. Can you test that?:)

Hmm, i have just checkt the bios. It seem´s like the Board will not work with the PLX Chipless Cards and the x8 Riser....

Hm, but then at least the x16 card might work, regardless of Intel or SM... or not :/

Edit: The PLX chip'ed ones will not need Bifurcation in the first place so still might work in a regular slot

Just did a hard Bios Reset and the issue is gone. Weird.
I have also modified the system a bit to get a 12 Bay 3,5" DAS connected:)
