Intel QS + Retail - will different steppings work together?

Hello,

I was wondering if I can use a 2680 v4 QS with a normal retail one in a dual CPU setup?

Or in other words: Steppings SR2N7 and QK92 togehter

My initial reaction is there should not be a problem unless the motherboard manufacturer prevents it through firmware hackery, but I would not stake my business/future/life on it In theory, there should be absolutely no difference between retail and QS processors. Engineering samples with retail are a different story entirely. I recall Steve over at GN running into problems with this type of setup:

The most fascinating bit of the story, to me, is how Intel tried to help out even though the processors in question were long EOL.
