Intel Optane SSD DC P4801X Availability?

Does anyone know why the P4801X isn't generally available yet? Provantage has them listed as a Special Order: PROVANTAGE: Intel SSDPE21K100GA01 Optane SSD DC P4801X Series .

ARK says they were launched in Q3'18: Intel® Optane™ SSD DC P4801X Series (100GB, 2.5in PCIe x4, 3D XPoint™) Product Specifications .

These look like a cheaper alternative to the P4800X for a SLOG.

Yes, but it also has half of the throughput for sequential writes and half the iops for random writes.

when compared to optane 900p or 905p it is much more affordable and has alot more endurance.

That's true but it's also 1/4 the price (and capacity) of a 375GB P4800X. For something like a SLOG, it's good enough for me.
