I feel the next thing we need should do is make a table with the motherboard and the version of bios that it is last known to work with.

Many people have successfully used gigabyte.

To anyone who uses Gigabyte, once you have it working, you risk losing support once you update the bios. At some point they removed it entirely.

If you have the skills to go back a BIOS version that will work in your favour. If you’re like me, and don’t have those skills (yet), don’t update!
Unfortunately, some optane-compatible platforms will be updated to the later on firmware if your boards' production/shipping date is late, which might removed some features.

Hi guys,
After a thorough inspection,
I've come to the conclusion that this motherboard is right for me:
MS03-6L0+ES QYFS/R
Buying a dual-socket one doesn't make sense.
Two CPUs will use at least 500W, which is a lot.
And DDR5 memory is currently very, very expensive.
The only other option is to buy Intel Optane PMem 300 Series.
If anyone has any additions.
Any information is welcome.

Could you please refers where is the source of the info "MS03-6L0 support PMems"? Theoretically it does, however without advanced BIOS modifications, MS03-6L0 will not be able to boot with it. If you are insist with GBT products, MS03-CE0 is an available SKU with PMem compatible feature. This is caused by, the MS03-6L0 does not belongs into the certain Intel's project, and is a later SKU compare to MS03-CE0.

What if use an earlier BIOS version MS03-CE0?
For MS03-6L0
Where is there support for PMem
almost certain it will work.
Correct me if I'm wrong.
MS03-CE0 would work as long as the PMem 300 module you have are functioning and been inserted with the correct population.

MS03-6L0 just like what I posted, the hardware features and electrical features of it definitely support the PMem modules, just about the firmware issue. For now the feasibility verifications of this action is still in process, therefore I cannot give you a 100% sure for that.
For the sake of the stability and capabilities, MS03-CE0 would be the better choice. (also if there is no changes to the GBT global pricing, MS03-CE0 is cheaper than MS03-6L0. Differentiation could occur for different region)

However, I agree with you!!!
R12 ver. stuck at memory initialization B7, older BIOS like Fxx, or Dxx in this link is needed
I have tested 1 pcs NMC2XBD128G6S + 1 pcs 16G DRAM in MM mode with QYFS
1789314631465.png
PMem must be populated in the same memory controller like {A,B} {C,D} {E,F} {G,H}.

Here are the results under linux, tested and concluded by agent
Speeds, AppDirect mode (module alone, non-interleaved, namespace0.0 fsdax, ext4 with dax=always, fio 3.33, each job given its own region):
seq read bs=1M, 8 jobs: 10.6 GiB/s (11.4 GB/s)
seq read bs=1M, 1 job: 3.5 GiB/s — CPU-bound, sys 99%, 4+ threads needed for peak
seq write bs=1M: 2.5-2.6 GiB/s (2.7-2.9 GB/s), saturates with a single thread, adds nothing past nj1
4k rand read qd1 (libpmem, mmap direct): 668k IOPS, avg clat 729 ns
4k rand write qd1 (libpmem): 408k IOPS, avg clat 1.32 us
4k rand read/write via block device O_DIRECT qd16: 429k / 451k IOPS
Speeds, Memory Mode (16 GB DDR5-4800 as the volatile cache for 127 GiB, single job, bs=1M):
8 GiB working set, fits in the DRAM cache: write 1603 MiB/s, read 2584 MiB/s
90 GiB working set, far exceeds the cache: write 1068 MiB/s (1.12 GB/s), CRC32C verify read-back 1749 MiB/s (1.83 GB/s)
average clat for 1M IOs: 574 us write, 461 us read

Guys, who uses PMEM?
Please share some information.
What MOBO and BIOS version do you have?

REGARDS
Now using PMEM100 in my X11-418G supermicro rig,
  • Current Latest Bundle: X11DPG-OT-CPU_4.7_AS1.74.19_SUM2.14.0.zip
  • BIOS Revision: 4.7
I will tell you it could get hot in there. Now with correct airflow down to 70 degrees and ready for some tests in Fall with LLM packages like lama.ccp, colibri. Any testing requests for t/s on models utilizing 4TB (with recommended quantization)? Was struggling last few weeks as de board reports some memory banks not working properly.

Today i received a package with Uptime RAM.
NMB1XXD128GPS
I tried running it on an X12SPL-F system with BIOS version 2.6.
The module isn't being detected.
To approximately which BIOS version do I need to roll back to get it working?Optane.jpg

Hi AVID-MEDIA,

you know that you need also regular DIMM to be installed? :)
e.g. 2x16GB RDIMM and 2xDCPMM

Thanks a lot.
I'll give it a try now.
I have 32GB modules Samsung.
Note:
If I understood correctly, I need to add a kit to the RAM modules I already have
