Well you need 3 hosts for VSAN, so that's only 2 SSD each or 800gb. Not a ton of space . But I like where you're going with that. Might be time to show the boss...

FWIW I've gotten some used off ebay from 27TB written to 400TB written, still a lot of life left in these HET drives.
