May I know how you make X11SPM-F support those OEM CPUs? Flashed modded bios? or programmed VRM?
the VRM must be programmed, but only one value.
ElmorLabs EVC2SX or the original EVKT-USBI2C-02 from Monolithic Power Systems (MPS)
MFR_ICC_MAX[EFh] must be changed from E4h(228A) to FFh(255A)

The USB->I2C adapter must be connected to the JVR1 3 pin connector of the motherboard.
to update the VRM the board must be powered ON.

Oh, very thanks for it, but it looks my knowledge is far away from it. Will you consider post a guide for it? I have some LGA 3647 C621 boards (C621 SAGE, X10DPH-i and so on) but ready to sell them to buy LGA 4167 boards. If there is possible to make them support OEM CPUs, I'm glad to pay for this guide.

soon. i have done this on my X11SPM which uses a MPS MP2955A VRM controller.
other Motherboards use different VRM controllers, i.e. the X11DPi-NT operates with other vendors VRM.

"Designed in USA"... paha... guess somebody from Intel called Supermicro up, about cutting off any supply of boards that could run their off-roadmap CPUs? No mention in release notes about crippling TDP in BIOS itself. Guess it would be possible to diff 3.4 and 3.5 and look for a module that reads port 610H MSR_PKG_POWER_LIMIT and fix that latest check up. Or just implant the old module from 3.4 into 3.5. But why, looks like Supermicro no longer wants to be an enthusiast brand. Good thing there is Gigabyte and AsrockRack.

OK, for all who have a supermicro X11SPM and want to run high Current OEM processors
The Thermal Design Current(TDC) of those processors is 255A, normal is 228A and lower.
You can see this TDC value with AIDA, HWinfo does not show this parameter anymore.

We need the ElmorLabs EVC2SX and the Software EVC2 1.0.1.10

I have made a device-xml for the EVC2 Software, MP2955A_PMBUS.xml

Do not power the X11SPM, install a supported CPU and connect the EVC2SX-I2C1 header with a 3 wire Cable to the JVR1 header of the X11SPM

Connect the EVC2SX with the USB Cable to your PC and start the EVC2 Software.
Now you can power on the X11SPM, click on I2C1 and click "Find Devices" the MP2955A should be found and visible under I2C1.
Click on this entry to open the Device:

click "Monitoring" to see the value of ICC_MAX.
you can select the standard or max. ICC_MAX in the dropdown menu.

STORE_USER_ALL is to save the setting permanent, if you just want to test, leave it at "no"

With a click at "Apply changes" the new ICC_MAX is written and if you choosed "yes" for STORE_USER-ALL this setting is copied in the NVM of the VRM controller.

can you do me a favor? I took a photo from my x11dph-i (revision 1.01) , is it the pwm controller: TPS53679 ?
yes this it Texas Instruments TPS53679, also used in X11SPL and many other supermicro motherboards as CPU VRM controller.
there is a software and a (expensive) USB-GPIO Interface from TI. unfortunaly this lacks information to make a device.xml for the ElmorLabs EVC.
update: device.xml for TPS53679 ready.

Ah, only remembered you mentioning AIDA and ciund find it on the phone, just now saw it was only the TDP value.

So only physical inspection then?

yes AIDA was for the the processor TDC specs not the VRM device.
physical inspection is required because we also need a PMBus/I2C header to connect.

thanks, first i try to find another solution.
i should have a board with the TI TPS, but thought is the X11SPM uses MPS the others too but i was wrong(that's life)

asked Texas Instrument for a pinout of the TPS53679, it's not included in the short PDF public available.
got answer now:

"We will need an NDA between your company and TI to share this full datasheet. Is that something you would like us to initiate?"

by the way: got the Datasheet MP2955A from MPS without NDA.

i finaly have done this by myself at home on a X11SPM-F
The original value OCP_ICC_MAX is 228Amps.
by setting this to 255A, a CPU with a TDC(thermal design current) of 255A will work.
ALL OEM custom 240W CPU have a TDC of 255A, the Plat. 8222CL too, even it has only 200W TDP.

but note the latest BIOS 3.5 of the X11SPM rejects all TDP higher than 165W(earlier BIOS allowed up to 240W)
that may apply to other supermicro X11 models too.
I know that already. One of my friends has already succeeded in modifying the PWM program. The programmer costs like 100$ here.
