Switch firmware absolutely can have issues but if that happens you have other issues.
First of all somebody would have had to already compromise a few levels of firewalls. After all any switch used in firewall zones will never have any connection to LAN except through firewalls and proxy’s.

I wonder if there is a way we can share some perspectives on how to setup/ configure IPMI networks for the main site?

Who needs iDRACula when you have Supermicro boards reportedly shipping with an extra "value added" spy chip? ;)
