The BR10i is a LSI SAS3082E-R which is a 1068e based chipset. Older-gen tech.

I think the SAS 2008 based IBM cards by IBM are more like the: 6 Gb SAS HBA and ServeRAID M1015. The SAS 2108 based cards are the ServeRAID M5025 ServeRAID M5015 and ServeRAID M5014.

I managed to pick up 2 of these on eBay recently for $90 shipped. Not a bad deal, waiting on some software upgrades before I'll be testing/using them (new unRaid beta should introduce support for them). Does anyone know of any reputable online retailers that might carry brackets for these? 1 of the cards didn't come with any brackets (of course the other one had both low and full heightincluded) and I need 1 full height bracket for it.

I'd go with IBM M1015 personally since its based on LSI's newer 6G SAS-2 generation chip. Greater IOPS capability and better support for expanders. Can be had for $75 and less on ebay.

Found refurbs at GLComp.com. No resellerratings for these guys, anyone heard of these guys before?
They seemed to have advertised on webhostingtalk and had a booth at vmworld 2010 so I think they're legit, but I used a one-time CC just in case.

44E8689 is $24, 44E8690 is $49. Anyone know the difference between the two?
Picked up three of the 44E8689's, shipping was $7 for ground to NY.

Received three. Packaged very well, individually enclosed and separated with injected foam O.O

I've dealt with them before for work and have nothing but good things to say. Looks like they now have the cards for $52 and you can now order them with a full-height PCI bracket installed.

The link has changed too:

I'm in for one!
