if 100-240V printed on the label it can.
with 94% efficiency the FAN must cool 60W at full load, at lower load maybe more because effiency gets bad.
try with two PSUs.
The entire psu sled is modified and there is other parts taking up that space.

Checked render wattage and it was 910w (almost max for 120v) Working pretty hard on one leg.

lol, Dell 1100W PSU would give even more output power at 120V (1050W) compared to 2000W PSU and with much less noise.

I have a 1600w , which only gives 800w. It never occurred to me that the 1100w would do better... I bet it is pretty quiet, given that it is probably designed to run more natively on 120v

Thanks. Going to try this first

have you updated the Firmware ? mine became more silent after it. but it can't change physics.
updated firmware on 2000w and might have on 1600w, but....

2000w derated to 1000 w at 120v
1600w derated to 800w at 120v
1100w derated to 1050 w at 120v

It mentions two versions. Titanium and platinum. I wonder which is better?

I was just about to embark on an incredibly complicated cooling solution, to mitigate the sound. Let's hope this just solves it

FW update does not change derating, but FAN behave.
if a 40mm FAN must cool 60 watts or probably more...
I also think the 1600w and 2000w are primarily designed to run on 240v. Running on 120 is shoving all the work through one power leg, that's why derated. I bet the 1100w is designed for 120v, but can operate at 240v. Reverse. That's why there is no derating.

This 2000w goes to full fan at 650w usage

possible more silent at 100% load.

120V have a fuse say 10Amp. at 240V the operating current is say 5A, if something gets wrong, say 9A short circuit, the Fuse will not blow.
it is not that simple.

imho the 2000W power supply has better design. it can upgrade Wattage at 240V, the bad 1100W PSU stays at 1100W even with 240V. albatross, don't buy.

Well, we'll find out, because the psu fan noise is the only thing left to solve. I did some heavy 900w rendering and it was too much. Like I said, I have a solution I have been putting together, modified psu top to accept 150mm downward crossflow fan. Tach multiplier circuit reporting back to the psu for expected rpm reading. Not hard, but a pain. Swapping psu is easier.

Running a new circuit in the house is a bit much. I used to have mining hardware, but I pulled that circuit.

this computer only has reached 910w with 3090ti pegged full, so maybe the 1100w is the cleanest

i hope for you the 1100W is more silent in single mode. i guess the FAN control on the 2000W one is optimized for 240V operation,
as i sayd before in a server room nobody cares.

so the 1100w power supply eliminated all fan noise. dropped wattage usage by 50w. great success. Ran cinebench again and new processor has one hot core, but I am not screwing with it. The machine never hits 100% ever, it just bugs me to have 30c difference. There is medication for that.2026-09-28 17_32_58-CINEBENCH R23.200.jpg

easy if you don't have to handle 2000W max.
i have 2200W gigabyte PSU, fits with standard outlet. a 120V 2200W PSU need min. 18,33 Amps from outlet per Unit.
quick question. if I populate the additional mem slots (black) does memory speed drop to 2666? Trying to tie a LLM to one processor using MOE, but 96gb isn't enough for the model. Need 142gb
