Bought a M70 locally, ended up having a dead GPU. Oh well, more D810/M70 motherboards then. I did end up swapping it's WSXGA+ lid to another M70 with a broken WUXGA display so there's that, at least I have a fully working one now.

Nice. So you essentially got a parts machine and parts you needed. ;)

My M6800 didn't come with the factory 240w power supply so I'm on the hunt for that. But there was a nice docking station kit that came with it for a little more so leaning towards that route. And then there was an extra capacity battery made too (just like for my 8760w), so that accessory would be nice too...

I love how workstation laptops can be maxed out. :D

PA-9E, shouldn't be too hard to find one.

I had a extremely unusual issue with my 5000M equipped M6500, it would trigger the OCP on my older PA-9E's somehow. I bought a newer adapter (the ones used with the 77x0 Precisions) and it doesn't trip the OCP.

It's always hard to find genuine ones on ebay. Lots of fakesters out there.

Interesting. I wonder if that older one was failing and only when pushed to the limit would the issue show? I know a lot of cheaper 'wall wart' type of power supplies will lose their ability to provide current before quitting completely. I just end up using them in lesser current draw applications. :)

Oh wow, Powerhouse on io-t's forums is back, let's hope he'll check my PMs about that M6700 Covet of his.

I also sold one of my M70's as I already own two of them.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
"Myyty" which means Sold :( GOD DAMN IT I missed out on a M6700 Covet!

At least I have a M60 now which i've been after for a while, but then again it's not as rare as a M6700 Covet.

oh no I just bought a M6600 with a dead GPU. Even has the IPS screen! (which is a blessing and a curse as I can't use the iGPU with it)

M6600 received. Wow, it's in better condition than I thought. Dell royally ****ed up the thermal pad placement in the factory, no wonder the GPU died.

I did manage to heatgun it back into life though, am running Superposition Benchmark on it right now to test stability. The CPU fan rattles a bit, might need to inject some silicon oil in it to make it shut up.

lol I ran Nvidia MATS and I got a bunch of memory errors, i'm surprised Superposition or GTA V even runs without crashing.

That being said, holy shit the 3000M is extremely anemic compared to my 5000M equipped M6500, in GTA V with the lowest settings at 1080p I only get about 30 FPS. And to think they both have the same amount of TMUs and ROPs.

Bought a new CPU fan for the M6600 instead as it was too far gone to be lubed. Amazing how quiet it is under load compared to my M6500 even though it uses the same fan.

oh **** I just bought a untested M20. Now I have all D-Series Precisions!

EDIT: wait no I don't, I forgot about the M65. Very close to completing my collection of the D-Series Precisions though.

M20 came in at last. Had a BIOS password and CompuTrace (ugh) is enabled, but I cracked the password within ten seconds and I can live with CT being enabled.

It's good condition though, so there's that. Need a new caddy as I broke the bezel of the original one :( damn mSATA-IDE adapter is tight as hell in the D610 chassis.

Found a M6800 Covet and a M2400 at a business seller, M6800CE is €600 and the M2400 is (holy_shit.ogg) €250. Thinking on passing on both, that M6800 looks rather well used and LMAO @ the price for the M2400.

How much other stuff do you have for the D610? I've got a stack of them as parts for our original one that we bought new. :)

Found someone in Washington selling a Inspiron 8200 and a M50 which I promptly bought. Yay, more parts for my C-series Precisions! Hopefully one of then has a working and undamaged display so I can make my M40 look less shitty/aged.

Strange how the M50 is less rare than the M40 for some reason.

Bought and received two Quadro FX 1400 Go GPUs for my M70 today, one does 400/700 and the other 420/775, not bad. If only I could find one that does 450 core on stock voltage..

What is the precision equivalent of the Inspiron 1300? I just got one and it's really solid like a latitude or better, so really curious if it's just a name change or something more.
