So it's a soldered CPU ("Locked to the motherboard") or what ?

Looking at the Benchmarks if it comes with CPU then it's approximatively 22% better than the AMD Ryzen 5950x it's the same as a Ryzen 5950x approximatively ...

Is Riser included ? I can only see 2 x NVMe Slots from their Picture, they state there are 4 NVMe (Slots ?):

EDIT 1: do you know how the Management (IPMI/BMC/KVM) works in terms of Software Support, License, etc ?

What about BIOS / BMC Firmware availability for Updates ?

EDIT 2: fix my Remark about the Benchmark comparison with AMD Ryzen 5950: the HYVES is actually approximatively 22% better than the AMD Ryzen 5950x

If it's just the Fan Speed, that's nothing an ESP32 / Arduino / Raspberry Pi Pico cannot fix :D.

I guess you'll have to "cheat" and anyways send a forged Fan Signal to the BMC (maybe pass-through the TACH Signal could also work, but if the Speed is too Low for what the BMC wants, it might not be sufficient), otherwise it will probably shutdown everything if no Fan is connected.

For 4 Pieces I offered 80 GBP / each, the Seller just countered with 120 GBP / each. All excluding VAT of course (that gets added on top).

So not quite the Good Offer that @Cruzader had.

Im gone guess that these are coming out of cloudflare.
By how they specced them with the same adapters to m.2 in their blog post and mention using 7642 in their 10th generation unit before moving to 7713 as 11th gen.

They also have the same 8 grey dimm blanks in them like seller has in their pictures.
cloudflare2.jpg

Would fit with how they are also G10 by sellers like Bargainhardware that start them at 650£, and cloudflare also refers to them as Edge like sellers do.

So it's a soldered CPU ("Locked to the motherboard") or what ?
That should make this a no also, as they mention testing the G11 7713 spec using G10 units.

So it just means that one cannot take the CPU out of the Motherboard and sell it standalone, because it's been locked to this Specific Motherboard (or this specific Vendor), I guess through Platform Secure Boot (PSB) ?

EDIT1: Like ... the CPU is included in the Deal, correct ?

Alright they accepted 95 GBP / Piece for 4 Pieces now (excluding VAT of Course). Not as cheap as I would have liked but I guess it's a (supposedly) good Deal.

Not sure where I will even install them though :D . I still haven't setup most of the 24x Asrock Rack B450D4U-V1LQ5 Boards that I bought a while back either o_O.

EDIT 1: @Cruzader , are you sure you actually PAID 100 GBP / Piece excluding VAT ? I also OFFERED 95 GBP / Piece and that got accepted, but at Checkout I see the following for 4 Pieces (which seem to indicate that I only actually PAID 79 GBP / Piece VAT Free):
1755028160691.png

So it actually is only 79 GBP/Piece which actually corresponds to the VAT-free Price (79 GBP * (100% + 20% UK VAT) = 95 GBP), while 95 GBP corresponds to the VAT-incluside Price for a UK-based Private Customer.

Which for eBay is always confusing: you seem to get VAT charged Twice when you do the Offer, but at checkout THEIR VAT (20%) get deducted, while yours (or mine: 25%) gets added (Einfuhrabgaben).

EDIT 2: For PCIe Riser I guess one of them could be something like Supermicro RSC-RR1U-E16 ... What about the other (facing the opposite Way), would that be Supermicro RSC-R1UTP-E16R ?

Yes i paid 100/ea, im outside EU/UK so it does not do any adjustment or subtraction of VAT for me.

Thats why i always make sure to mention "ex.vat. export (Outside EU/UK vat zone)" as offer comment since it does not subtract it for me, what they accept is what it checks out as before adding my domestic VAT.

Are you sure ? So either I paid 20% less than you did (per Piece) or ... you are paying VAT twice (to Norway & to the UK in this Case) ....

EDIT 1: so in your Case it would be 125 GBP / Piece inclusive of 25% Norwegian VAT, right ?

For riser this will require the correct tyan ones, these are also used in 2U models and have a x24 slot to offer support for 2-3 slot risers also.

From manual
(1) PCI-E Gen4 x 24 slot,
(1) PCI-E Gen4 x 24 slot (w/x16 link; can be x24 link if OCP mezz. conn.B is not used. Please contact with Tyan technical support for details.)
In this 1U unit available with the same S8036GM2NE-LE motherboard as these are using, they list these 2 risers.
Riser Card
411T61600001 M8036-R16-1F riser card
411T61600004 M8036-L16-1F riser card
Id expect the L and R to be right and left facing slots, as they are back to back.

By manual the m.2 slots are also gen3 with sata support
(2) 22110/2280 (by PCI-E Gen3 & SATA interface)
So that should make it a total of 6 nvme with the 4 in front (2 on top and 2 on bottom of plate) and the pair of m.2
(i asked seller if they could add a picture of the underside mounting also, cloudflare mentions using 3 drives so should be atleast 1 U.2->M.2 adapter there)

They have also added more stock to the listing.

UK based buyer here, I got three for 133 gbp each inc vat.

Any ideas on the max length of cards that can fit in the PCI slots? I think Arc A310 low profile can fit but what about external HBA’s? Maybe LSI 9300-16e?

Looks like the M8036-L16-1F is not available anywhere.

That seems a bit high considering that I got 4 for 111 GBP / Piece inclusive of Danish VAT (25%) AND Shipping.

I fail to see how any standard Supermicro 1U Riser won't work though.

Is the PCIe Slot located slightly at different Height compared to the Supermicro ?

I could only find this one (from China) for M8036-R16-1F

Nothing for the M8036-L16-1F :( .

@Cruzader By the Way, I ended buying another 4 of them . So 8 in Total (for now at least). I still cannot believe how cheap it is compared to e.g. the ASROCK B450D4U-V1LQ5 we bought and discussed in the other Thread, considering that the CPU is included with this EDGE System, you can install cheap RDIMM/LRDIMM DDR4, and it has like 2-3x the Performance of a AMD Ryzen 3700X / AMD Ryzen 5700X. Plus PCIe 4.0 Support if People care about that :).

1755105168857.png

The only minor problem is to figure out where I should install them and how I should deal with the Fan Noise.

Water Cooling anybody :) ?

EDIT 1: or possibly Undervolting a bit via Software plus some slight Underclocking ?
