There's references to this issue in the Topton thread, but figured I'd post in here in case others with this box are having issues. The N6005 CPU and Proxmox does not jive well for VMs. I was getting consistent crashes of my OPNsense VM until I upgraded the microcode to revision 0x24000024 (probably the only fix since I doubt we will see any BIOS updates). More info here and instructions on how to upgrade the microcode here. This solved my problem and works fine with the default kernel on latest Proxmox 7.3, but I also upgraded to the opt-in 6.2 kernel recently.

I can't guarantee that this will work for your system but the cable assy is a Dupont Pico 4 wire 1.25mm pitch female connector to a 2.54mm male connector. I found this on AliExpess and it looks to be one that will work but it's not an exact match to the one shown in the photo's above.

The difference is that the female end (2.54mm) has a hood over the male pins but it should work. You need to decide for yourself.

Have you contacted the vendor that you purchased your mini from? They should be able to help. All the info I have is in the above posts I've made.

Thank you very much for your help.

I ordered an adapter, later I will write whether it fits or not.

I got the same unit and came here for information about the fan.

The link here is for the SATA power to 4 pin FAN. While you could use the SATA power to power a fan, I had trouble finding the actual fan header pin name, and the word "Pico" was not helping me find it. But here is what I did find.

It's called a Micro JST MX 1.25 mm 4-pin (aka: PicoBlade?). I've also seen "mini-micro" in the name.

This should be it: https://www.aliexpress.us/item/2251832627137653.html?gatewayAdapt=glo2usa4itemAdapt

And this is a generic Amazon listing, but no fan connector: https://www.amazon.com/Connect-Single-Female-Connector-Cables/dp/B09983B757?th=1

I couldn't find any fan adapters and didn't want to make a larger purchase on Aliexpress, so I'll just see how my unit does for now, but I wanted to log all my findings here for anyone else, or my future self. :D

Hello,

Do you know if this cable https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32803458861.html fits for the FAN connector on the motherboard (pointed by the red arrow) ? I see their offer versions for 2, 3 and 4 pins connector.

mini_pc.jpg

I have this 80x80x10mm slim fan (12v) with 2 pins
80x80x10_fan.png
which I want to connect to that fan connector on the motherboard.

On the specification page it states that this fan has an interface type called XH 2,54 mm-2Pin

Do you this it is compatible ?

Thank you,

It's so hard to tell. It looks right to me, but I'd go with the 4 pin fan connector and yours is only a 2 pin, so that's different.

Maybe a fan like this one would work better ?

It's a 80x80x10mm fan with 4 pin PWM.

In this case I assume this cable
10pcs-1-25mm-PicoBlade-2-3-4-12Pin-Male-to-Female-Housing-Connector-1-25mm-Extension.jpg_640x640.jpg
should fit into the fan connector I showed earlier right and connect the other side to the 4 PIN PWM fan?

How big are the slots in the heatsink? I'm wondering if I could slide a small t-nut in there for mounting a fan on top. Looks like it will work but I won't find out till I get mine.
