@Patrick I saw you mention this in another thread and I love the look of that server, but I would to know if it would run a Silver 4114 I can’t see why not as it’s got less cores than the biggest listed gold CPU and less TDP than the biggest (only 85w vs 105w)

Anybody know if HPE gen10 systems really lock in the CPU that can be used is really the question ?

We have already tested Silver 4108, 4110, 4112, 4114, 4116 in there and are starting on 14C Xeon Gold.

Good to know although seems my quick look just now at the chance to get the barebones or the minimum spec system locally could be the issue. And not much point if I couldn’t use parts from the parts bin.

Would have made a decent desktop especially at the price you got yours for.

Good to see Gen10 has not restricted what CPU you can run so long at its inside maximum TDP and maybe also cores.
