So to give you some idea, I have a Wyse thin client that is basically identical to these except with only 4gb of ram and 32-bit win7e.
Cpu-wise, they're definitely a throwback as an older lga775 q6600 is almost twice as fast:

Still, when you compare the thread performance to comparable atoms or other low powered processors, the only thing that's really changing is the power usage:

I use my Wyse TC on the stock win7e to rdp into about 20+ other systems and to make nightly backups from various file servers to nas units. I'm actually using it right now. The cpu barely breaks a sweat doing all this work, so I feel pretty confident it can do much more, especially with a 64-bit os. Hope this is some food for thought.
