Did you check the management interface - I mean if it comes with ONYX or plain ONIE? Thanks!
No I did not check but you can update boot using Mellanox recovery ONIE, but I did not find yet this ISO in Mellanox support page, maybe @Rand__ has somewhere : onie-recovery-x86_64-mlnx_x86-r5.0.1410.iso

Been looking around to get this and wonder if this cannot be simply built from the sources?

At least thats implied by this blog (for delta): How To recover ONIE and NOS | Circle B

In our case we build recovery-iso with:
make -j4 MACHINEROOT=../machine/delta/ MACHINE=delta_agc7648a recovery-iso

Then you have the rescue image:
~/onie/build/images/onie-recovery-x86_64-delta_agc7648a-r0.iso

Gave it a try, but stumbled over a few isses with missing prereqs and bugs in crosstool-ng, and not too well versed in fixing linux dependency errors; been a while;)

Most of the crosstool-ng issues coming from Onie be set up for Debian Stretch (python-sphinx dependency failure eg coming from python2.7 and Buster is purely Python3)and so on. I believe you have to build the docker file and run it from there.

Thanks, actually managed to get what I needed without the recovery file.

Btw (as that was still open) managed to register the switch with HPE (use Product Number Q2F24A), warranty valid until Oct 4, 2021 (for mine) which results in eligibility for support and downloads

Just upgraded to the latest release, this is from the switch itself so probably a few W's more from the plug:

Nothing connected except 1 PSU and mgmt. **** brilliant for a 100G switch

I'm sharing a build attempt for Mellanox here >> Mellanox Recovery ISO. Not sure it is what's needed here. You have to extract the iso from the archive. Let me know if this is helpful or not needed. In order to get this on a USB stick, please use the steps from the link @Rand__ provided above. Should be pretty forward.

Have now migrated all my ports from the SX6036 to the SN2100 (still at 56G w/ CX3's at this time), basically no change in the total power consumption (from the '36, now at 50-60W)
Will see if power utilization increases when I replace the CX3s with 4's (where applicable, bringing the port up to 100G)...
Not that I *need* the 100G connectivity, but... ;)

Edit: Specified current numbers to avoid misinterpretation

At this time I can't really hear it over the other HW in my rack, but as I am on 56G only at this point I would expect the 2100 to be actually less noise than the 6012 due to more modern technology.
When I move a few 100g cards in this might change though, but all in all I dont think it wil make a huge difference, then 6012 already could be quite loud (when under heavy use)

sn2410 quite loud compare to sx6012 , but power on idle no port connect is about 50W

Well the 2410 has significantly more ports ( Spectrum-based 48-port 25GbE + 8-port 100GbE Open Ethernet Platform ), a much wider footprint and probably therefore runs the fans higher

I don't assume there is anyone who doesn't need his original from this sale any more?

Could use a second one for a good price;)

Actually the SN2100 is quite efficient, some 70W average

1622490561854.png
That is with 14 ports connected, probably 50:50 with 56G/100G nics connected.
Edit: Just saw an earlier similar pic from me without ports - 33W - so half base switch and half the direct attach copper's

Just connected two buildings the other day with fibre and wil o/c its perfectly sufficient to run a 6012 in the second building, it would be nice to have a 100G interconnect.. ;)
O/c i dont *really* need either since most of the time the old 10G copper cable was sufficient, but ... :p

Hm, on a more serious note, it would allow me to circumvent the 13 VLAN pvrstp limitation on the old gen MLX switches...

SN2100 is definitely one of the 100G switches with the best energy consumption ratio.
Broadcom Tomahawk platform can easily draw more than 180W of power consumption (including power conversion efficiency) :(
