Hello!
I was wondering if anyone would be able to give me hints as to why my HP p420(not "i") is not detecting my WD Blue 4tb and other consumer drives like that. I am using this(https://www .ebay .com/itm/162171427522) exact cable. If anybody needs it i can post specs. Another note is that I could not find any working drivers for this controller, but the HP software detects it fine. The controller has also been set into HBA mode using the following command(in hpssacli for windows): "controller slot=0 modify hbamode=on forced"

^ Yup, Octopus cables are 1 directional. But why are you using a raid controller in HBA mode for SATA SSDs?

Is this on an older HP server?
