Hi

Need some help with a G8 microserver project. I have just acquired a HP H220 HBA and have been using it in pass thru in ESXi to an expenolgy VM (for the HDD cage, I have ssd's in raid 10 connected to the onboard B120i raid controller).

On inspection the HBA card says its an LSI 9205-8i and in post it says its an LSI in TI mode. I was wondering whether this card can be flashed to an IR version so I can use it for the ssd's in raid 10 and use the onboard B120i in sata mode and pass thru for expenology.

Reason for wanting this is the onboard controller is only 6gbps on the first 2 ports, drops to 3 for the remainder, and I would rather have the mechanical hdd's use these ports.

cheers

doh!!

use real hardware raid with cache memory for raid 1, and you will never regret!

I think, H220 is a basic HBA card..
