I just received a HP Elitedesk 800 G6 Mini that I had won on EBay.

it has 2 m.2 slots, but unlike the Dell Optiplex 3080 amd Lenovo m90q.. it Did not come with a SATA 2.5 Caddy.

Question>> After looking at how the device is laid out… is it possible to have the SATA 2.5 Caddy with a 2.5 SSD while also having both M.2 slots occupied?

I was going to put 2 2TB M.2s and a 4TB 2.5 SSD.. BUT BEFORE I buy the caddy.. I wanted to make sure that this confit with work.

Thank you

It should. The M.2 slots should be NVMe only. AFAIK either slot are not muxed with the SATA port. The chipset itself supports more than 1 SATA, however only one is exposed (through the SATA port).

Thank you for your reply. I am concerned that there may not be enough space to fit the NVMe(s) between the caddy and the system board.

@myrays5 I happened to be looking into the same thing today. Looks like the 2.5" holder from HP is poorly designed and completely blocks the 2nd M.2 slot. A solution is to mount the drive without the metal holder. There are also 3D print models available if you want to print your own 2.5" holder that doesn't interfere with the M.2 slot.

See this reddit thread (it's for the G5 but I believe it also applies to the G6):
Here's an example of a 3D model for the holder:

EDIT: The last comment on this reddit thread contradicts the above and implies that both M.2 drives can be used with the caddy on the G6:
