HP DL380p Backplane PN 660706-001 pinout/atx compatibility?

Hello,

Has anyone used one of these SAS backplanes/chassis in their custom builds? Seems like a nice organizational feature for very cheap < 15$.

Might model up a 2x5.25" bay to 8x 2.5" drive chassis to use this backplane with.

If anyone has used them do you know if the power connector is compatible with standard 6pin atx power supply? (or have a drawing/pinout)

While that does look nice, consider starting with one of these, which takes a standard 12V CPU power connector (and also supports 8xNVMe): Intel 8-Bay PCIe SAS/SATA Backplane Board P/N: H88386-252 | eBay

There's a thread or two on here somewhere and possibly models for a cage as well.

Info i have found, im going this route

Ended up going with the intel8bay linked above as it is 12gbps.
Designed a ducted enclosure for them. the backplane is too wide to fit in the 5.25" drive bay without chopping off a bit more than I would like to of the case.




However have not been able to format the gd SAS hgst drives successfully.
