I have a X9DR7 dual CPU in a supermicro 836 rack, and I am trying to see if I can put in an Nvidia 1050 or 1060 for Plex transcoding. However, I don't know how to add 6 pin power to the GPU. the only available power cable left appears to be a singel 4 pin molex. 2 X 920SQ power bricks in the system.

Any suggestions appreciated. Much thanks

Already have the 1050 and 1060 on hand. So trying to use them instead of buying new cards

If it is for a 1060 card , not pulling few hundred watts.
search ebay or Amazon "4 pin molex to 6 pin pci-express"
Buy a high quality cable.

You're somewhat in a tight spot with having only 1 molex connector to work with. Something like this should work: https://www.amazon.com/Molex-PCI-Express-Video-Converter-Adapter/dp/B018NTFUX6

If you're going to go with something that's not a professional type card (ex P400-P4000), you really need to be careful about overall height of the card. This is especially true for cards with their power connectors on top and instead of on the end. There are a couple of ways to help with this though.

Option #1: Ultra Low 90 Degree 6 or 8-Pin PCI-E Adapter Cable
Option #2: GPU VGA 8Pin 6Pin PCIE U Turn 180 Degree Angle Connector Adapter Board

If you don't feel like going that route though, the P2000 is still the standard for transcoding for a reason and should fit nicely.

The thing about P2000 is that price have skyrocket since it become the PLEX transcoding hardware of choice.
