Been reading allot about people using a switch instead of a router.

Been hosting websites at our office for a few years now.
I have a 100Mb fiber connection from an upstream provider to a media converter converting to ethernet.
Right now I am using a Cisco 3925 router from the media converter to an icx6610 layer 3 switch.
The only features I'm using on the router are basic ACL and NATING external address to internal address.

Is the Cisco router necessary or could I just use the icx6610 switch to connect to the media converter.
Would the performance be better or worse?

5 physical servers running about 130 websites hosted on 2 vms, email server on a vm, dns server on vm, database and backup server on bare metal.
