I had firmware 1.9.1. I tried updating to V200.1.29 and got a bootloop. Every 5 seconds after powering on, the lights flicker on and off. Looks like the switch is in the trash :(

Hello members!
After a lot of firmware swapping, I managed to put my KP-9000-9XHML-X switch (v3.1) into a boot loop. I used the dump from post #553 as a reference and updated the firmware from post #668. The only difference is that the web interface shows a different model and hardware version. Could this cause any issues? I’d also like to ask if anyone happens to have a default dump for v3.1?

Hello guys I think I have the latest firmware to offer (did not read all 41 tabs so I apologise if I am wrong)
I got it directly from the company by requesting it via email.

Use it at your own risk.

For me it works fine.

I purchased my KP-9000-9XHML-X from AliExpress.

It had this firmware: V100.9.9.1.7 (dated June 7, 2025) before me upgrading it, and the girl from support told me to "not use the following upgrade file if the firmware version does not start with v100"

So again use it at your own risk; I just share what worked for me and my switch with whomever may be interested. Cheers.

It’s safe to say this model can be brought back from the dead without any issues :D
Btw, RTLPlayground wouldn’t be a bad alternative either — it’s just still in its early stages.

Can someone do a step by step exact procedure to update firmware v1.91 Hardware to v100.x.x via a CH341

e.g. a step by step for dummies

ScroogeMcAllister has run v1.91 + v100.x.x on the same hardware
i just cant quite work out exactly what i should do and want to be certain before i do it

i already have a standard backup of the Winbond chip with a CH341

@ ScroogeMcAllister has run v1.91 + v100.x.x on the same hardware
The question is: On WHICH hardware?
MyMokerlink SWTGW218AS, running with 1.9.1, and my Keeplink KP-9000-9XHML-X, currently running V100.9.21, are on completely different hardware with different Chipsets (RTL8373 vs RTL8373N), and I doubt that cross-flashing to another device would do anything other than bricking it.

NEVER CHANGE A RUNNING SYSTEM, except you like bricking your devices.

I have already bricked it and unbricked it i have a full flash backup so its not a problem to flash back
as i said i have a hardware revision with 1.91 firmware on it
and the user i talked about has run 1.91 and 100.x.x on the same device it it can be done

Then go ahead and do it, for whatever strange reason.
Are you OK?

Im unsure why you think its a strange reason the firmware is far newer on V100
you should roll your 1.91 device back to 1.00 if you feel that way btw
the reason it doesnt work on the earlier ones is because of the OTP area being different from what i can understand
that has to be modified

hence why i asked for a dummies guide how to do it
so i dont have to stumble through it but im sure i could if i really had to

Not really sure why you replied if you have no info to provide
