Maybe You can try with firmware upload with the update that You have now?
I bought a second identical switch. Everything works, but I don't know how to change the MAC address. I found that the HxD has a MAC address on line 1FC000, but replacing it doesn't work with switch management. I'm sharing the BIN file for a switch with four RJ45 and two SFP+ ports. KP-9000-6XHML-X2

Does anyone know how to swap the MAC address? I currently have two switches with the same MAC address.

Some of these managed Realtek based switches have hidden menus where you can change such things. I'm not sure exactly which of the different management interface implementations your switch has, but a screenshot I found when googling indicated that it might be the one talked about here:

Check if you can access the factory menu mentioned there.

If not, please provide a screenshot of the management UI.

I have a HC-SWTG124AS (Managed 2SFP+,4Copper) , which I bricked by loading an incorrect firmware. The lights would blink Green then Orange, and loop.

I have used a CH341a to try and load different firmware, and they all result in a single Solid Green LED. No response when attempting to connect to it.

Would appreciate any help.

When you try flash the firmware using CH341A you need to use the full SPI flash dump (not a FW update binary).

You can try some of these images (according to you PCB revision):

I have the HC-SWTG124AS UNMANAGED 2SFP+,4Copper but i'm pretty sure that the board is exactly the same as the managed one
Could this be converted to the managed one?

Latest firmware :

Just receive it from KeepLink representative. Short advice: do the upgrade from a PC/Laptop because i have try from mobile and didnt work.He failed. In case do fails change you ip address to 192.168.1.X connect to lan to switch and access : http://192.168.1.1 not http://192.168.1.168 as is written of the switch. You will get directly in the web page of the upgrade process.

V1.7 was recently provided by their customer service for the sodola managed sw.
Thanks for this. I flashed it to my ZX-SWTGW218AS and it comes up with a Microtik login at 192.168.2.1. I tried admin/<nothing> and admin/admin, both of which fail. I did a factory reset with same results. Does anyone have the login for this firmware?

I was curious if the KP-9000-9XHML-X

firmware would work on my ZX-SWTGW218AS

Known Hardware (First Revision 1.xx firmware) e.g. Firmware Version V1.9.1
AmpCom WAMJHJ-8125MNG
Horaco ZX-SWTGW218AS
HRUI HR-SWTGW218AS
Sodola SL-SWTGW218AS
MokerLink 2G08110GS
Xikestore SKS3200M-8GPY1XF

Anyway i was messing with my switches yesterday
so backed up the SPI with a CH341

and flashed it with the KP-9000-9XHML-X firmware

It finishes booting then after about a second it reboots
and just boot loops

So no KP-9000-9XHML-X firmware doesnt work with ZX-SWTGW218AS (1.91 Firmware based hardware)

PCB-SWTG118AS-V2.1-17462

Flashed it back to stock with the CH341 just fine

Just posting to save anyone else trying if they are curious

Unbricked with CH341

Do MaxLinear switches consume less power than the Realtek equivalents? If they do, it seems that point is a bit moot if two MaxLinear chips are used, like in the TRENDnet TEG-3102WS case.

Is it true that for 8x 2.5GbE + 2x 10G SFP+, these type of switches must be MaxLinear? The MaxLinear MxL86282 article seems to suggest this, as does this post.

Another thread seems to suggest that the Xikestor SKS3200-8E2X should be avoided and was released too soon. Is there any decent managed 8x2.5GbE + 2x10G SFP+ switches out there since last year? I imagine new devices should be out there?

In theory it would be possible to make a 8x 2.5GbE + 2x 10G SFP+ switch based on a RTL9303. But not sure it would make much sense from a cost point a view. Although NICGIGA decided to make a 8 port 5Gbit switch with it.

Yes they do that is a very odd switch

MxL86282S has 8 2.5Gbe Ports + 2 SFP+ Ports and is a single chip
including a management cpu in the soc

That trendnet is 2 MxLxxxxxC Chips which seem to be downbinned 5+2 Port Chips
with no management then a management CPU added so 3 chips

I have a Xikestore Unmanaged (SKS1200-8GPY2XF) that released before the SKS3200-8E2X it has a MxL86282C (C = Non Managed)
and i can assure you there is only a single chip in there not 3 like in that TRENDnet TEG-3102WS

Anybody have suggestions on this? I can no longer get to the admin upgrade page at 192.168.1.1, so I need to figure out a login for this *new* Microtik login page.

There should be no Mikrotik login page... are you sure you are trying to log into ZX-SWTGW218AS switch? Do you have any Mikrotik device in your network?

Thanks,

Yes, I too was surprised. I have the ZX-SWTGW218AS on it's own subnet for testing. it's the only device. I have never owned Mikrotik gear. This came up when I used the firmware in post #52. Now I don't have the ability to software flash the ZX-SWTGW218AS. Very strange. I'm not sure where to go from here. I can and have tools to do hardware flashing, but I'd rather not go through the trouble unless I have to. Any ideas?

Do you have a screenshot? As far as I know, Mikrotik tends to use Marvell switch chips, not Realtek so what you describe sounds very unlikely.
