Just got the HORACO HC-SWTGW218AS. Firmware is V200.1.10. Is this the latest?

Probably a new revision of the hardware with new (and incompatible) firmware.

HW V1.1 has Firmware 1.9.1.

Could you share a screenshot of the System Information Screen in the Web-Interface?

Can confirm the 200.1.10 units fail to boot if 'upgraded' to 1.9.1.

Status LED solid green.

All Ports Green. 500ms
All Ports Orange. 250ms
All Ports Dark/off. 5sec.
Repeat.

For anyone who bricked their switch, I bricked mine (Xikestore SKS3200M-8GPY1XF) and can confirm that CH341 programmer can flash a bricked chip (Winbond W25Q16JVS10). You need the 2MB bin, I got mine from my 2nd switch.

They kindly sent me upgrade firmware that I was able to recover (and upgrade!) the unit with.
This is for Horaco HC-SWTGW218AS.
This is ONLY for units with 200.x firmware.
This is specifically noted as NOT for units with 2.x firmware.

I will also note that the uboot password is not 'Switch321' on my unit.
Great!I have a switch with V200.1.10 but 2*sfp+4*2.5ge model, and the seller say there is no update. Can you help me to ask if they have it?thanks much

It is possible your model doesn't have a firmware upgrade? Contact the manufacturer. Horaco's store on AliExpress, for example, is how I got in contact with them. Nice guys.

Tried it but I’m returning my Horaco HC-SWTG124AS running V200.1.11 as it too is not compatible with my FttH IPTV provider (KPN, Netherlands) or simply provides a buggy IGMP snooping function. I see the right port learning the multicast IP but as soon as that happens the stream stops. An old gigabit D-Link DGS1210 switch works without issue. This is just ‘one leg’ in my home network, the other stuff is by Ubiquiti.

The other switch I tried in the same spot was a Xikestor sks3200-8e2x, same issue. Tried the Horaco one since that has the Realtek chipset instead of the MaxLinear, so figured it could be more compatible.

I guess my ‘el cheapo’ multi-gigabit adventure ends here and I’ll just stick to the more established brands unless of course someone knows of one that actually works. :)

Maybe you can try TP-Link models like SE2109?I think their firmware is better than these small manufacturers.

That’s an interesting suggestion thank you! I had looked at TP Link but had not found any 2.5/10G switches like these. It seems they’re not (or not yet) available for markets outside China but I could find some sellers on Ali that sell it.

Asus wireless routers fail to play nice with VLANS. Problematic.

In other news, the v200 firmware series has obfuscated passwords entirely in the firmware. As a curiosity, I tried to figure it out. Hashcat burned a few days of electricity failing, too. No wordlists helped and any password is not alphanumerics up to 8 characters and not alphanumerics and symbols up to 7 characters. Or possibly there is extra obfuscation going on not readily obvious. Ah well.

My Sodola switch looks like it's toast. I noticed this afternoon it was not routing anything and after cutting the power to it and plugging it back in the tiny green light that says "SYS" is rapid flashing. I've tried a few things like the reset and nothing happens. Has anyone ran into a similar experience and is my unit hosed?

Try connecting to 192.168.1.1. If that works, try flashing firmware. Always possible your power supply is putting out bad power, too. Failing that, you will probably have to connect in on the ttl to see what it's yelling about.

I tried using another power supply, and the same thing happened. Unfortunately, there's no link detected on any of the ports when plugging in via RJ45 or the SFP+.
