On the basis of unmanaged versions with the same case format I would suspect it's a RTL8373N + RTL8224N device (which would support the lower power usage claims).

Hello everyone, I have a problem after flashing the chip. My switch resets every 5 to 10 seconds—all the LEDs turn on and then turn off again. In the .bin file, I included its MAC address, but I noticed that a few fields remain empty at the end. What could be the problem?

Hi! Some times ago I bought SKS3200-8E1X-P (8x2.5g, 1sfp, web, poe, RTL8373 + RTL8224, spi W25Q16DV)
on V100 firmware but *seekswan.com* gives only V1. And as a usual the switch has been broken.
Now I need help.

I had some research on that forum and github up-n-atom/SWTG118AS and only SWTG118AS-v1.bin dump for unmanagement
switches normal init SKS3200-8E1X-P. It's look like blinks orange and green leds, UART on 9600 info about starting
and after that normal work stage but witout web interface.
From SWTG118AS-v1.bin dump on github I use only first 112k of firmware.
How can I start web upgrader for load normal firmware?

I have found a bug in the older revision hardware firmware

1.9.1 +1.9.0 etc with 9014 Byte Jumbo Frames enabled on all of my lan devices

ping -f -l 8972 192.168.0.253 (the ip of Ampcom WAMJHJ-8125MNG )
crashes the web interface of the switch resulting in the web interface of the switch not working
until the power is pulled

infact ping -f -l 2600 192.168.0.253 also crashes the web interface
ping -f -l 1600 192.168.0.253 doesnt

at worst it should not respond to the ping
but it actually should respond as jumbo frames are enabled upto 16k by default in the switch firmware
it should never crash the web interface

I have asked Ampcom to request a fix
but no idea if we will actually get a firmware update

Hi, I have just purchased from Aliexpress and installed this switch. It has the following specs

Device Model HC-SWTGW218AS
Firmware Version V1.9.1
Firmware Date May 10 2024
Hardware Version V1.1

I have configured two Trunks with LACP, one to a Asustor NAS AS6404T and one to a SW208 TP-Link switch. Everything seems to be working well. However, I do not see any speed improvements when transferring files to my NAS. My PC has a 2.5gb network interface, but when copying large files I used to get 112Mbs to the SW208 which is a 1gb switch and I am now getting 108Mps with this Horaco 2.5GbE Managed Switch.

Is this normal? I was expecting that because the PC is now connected to a 2.5gb switch and the NAS via a LAG Trunk with two connections my speed would have increased! Am I wrong in my assumption?

Any info on this would be highly appreciated.

Thanks,
Adri

LACP will only improve bandwith from your NAS to multiple clients. Not to 1 client.

Link aggregation is like adding more lanes to a highway while keeping the speed limit the same. If there were a traffic jam, adding more lanes would help, but if you're the only car on the highway, more lanes won't help you go any faster.

Thank you Joeribl.

Is this specific to the LACP setting? Or would it be the same if I choose Static and a different setting on the NAS? I currently have selected 802.3ad on the NAS.

Thank you in advance,
Adri

Thank you Shonk, that is a great way to explain what is happening! Is there a different way I could configure the Switch to gain more speed from the NAS ?

pigr8 thank you, I have just ordered an Asustor AS-U2.5G2 USB3.2 Gen1 Type-C to 2.5GBASE-T Adapter.

Hi everyone. I’ve just bought a Keeplink clone of the Horaco. The device is a KP-9000-9XHPML-X-AC (firmware 100.9.5).

Everything is working fine. My only issue is the DHCP client of the device. Do you know how I can choose on which VLAN the DHCP request is going to be sent ? Right now, it seems it’s quite random. I’ve got several Vlans configured, and it seems it’s not the same after a few reboots. Thanks

I don't think you can choose the vlan for the dhcp request. I set each switch of mine to have a static ip.

Assuming multiple VLANs each with their own DHCP server I set the ip of the switch(s) to be in the subnet of the default vlan.

When you say the default vlan, you mean Vlan 1, that’s right ? So I kinda need to use that vlan (my vlan numbers does not include that one because it’s the most obvious) ?

That's the one I used. I'm not sure if you use an ip from another vlan that it will work correctly. You could give it a try and let us know.
