If normal communication works between the router and the device on VLAN123 this means that firewall settings are the problem and you should move your diagnosis to the pfsense router

Hey, see attached my topology.
Here my issues:
Clients on ports with VLAN123 untagged do not get an IP address from that network
I can ping the native network LAN from VLAN123 and vice versa
I already checked my firewall settings. I have a second pfSense with a working config (with UniFi switches) and everything works there

From your description I don't see anything wrong except port not being lit on the status page.
What does it show on the "Port Status" page?
Also ICMP and TCP/UDP can have (and sometimes do have) different default firewall rules.
Have you checked connectivity with anything more than ping?

Yeah, so far I only pinged the router from a different subnet. It might also have something to do with my custom firewall rules (basically blocked all DNS servers and made the firewall available. But for me to test it with a client would require an MGMT IP Address..
I will try to manually assign one, but so far it seems like VLAN forwarding is buggy with these switches.
Edit:
Regarding the ports that show black - they appear as unassigned, even though they are occupied and I have traffic. Port 8 was the one I wanted to assign to VLAN123 but it doesn't work

Ubiquiti just release a 5-port 2.5GBit managed switch for around 50 bucks if anyone is interested..

Thanks for the link. I tested this on my sodola. Changed it to dhcp, saved, then rebooted. No issues. Also power cycled, same no issues, stayed dhcp.

Can you please give a link to this model. Not able to pin point the exact model. I have a Keeplink Managed+PoE 8-2.5G/1-10G device. I am trying to see if this firmware can help. My Device is KP-9000-9XHPML-X
Thanks. I also have a non POE version of the Keeplink model. (KP-9000-9XHML-X). 1.9.1 seem to work without issues (could not test SFP port).
