Hey guys, my switch (ampcom wamjhj-8125mng) is physically acting weird. Right now it is working as a dumb switch.

In summary, all 1Gb connection are showing orange and blinks with activity - normal
While all 2.5Gb connections are showing solid orange

Checked all endpoints and they are all showing 2.5Gb link and iperf shows average of 2.34Gbits/secs transfer.

I can't access the IP address I assigned it with. Holding the reset button for 10, 30, 60 secs didn't do anything. Also tried the power off, hold reset + power for 30 secs didn't do anything as well. Is there any special reset procedure for this switch?

Any help would be appreciated.

There is something wrong with the SFP+ Port on these switches
I have tested 3 SFP+ to 10Gbps RJ45 Adapters
2 x 30M
1 x 80M

SMB 3.x Multipath

From 2 x 2.5Gbps ports to SFP+ Port With 10Gbps 80M RJ45 Port 566Mb/s
From SFP+ Port With 10Gbps 80M RJ45 Port to 2 x 2.5Gbps ports 226Mb/s
From SFP+ Port With 10Gbps 80M RJ45 Port to 1 x 2.5Gbps port 113Mb/s

From 2 x 2.5Gbps ports to SFP+ Port With 10Gbps 30M RJ45 Port 566Mb/s
From SFP+ Port With 10Gbps 30M RJ45 Port to 2 x 2.5Gbps ports 226Mb/s
From SFP+ Port With 10Gbps 30M RJ45 Port to 1 x 2.5Gbps port 113Mb/s

iperf performs fine

I looked at using the firmwares in this thread also, but it is too different for me to try. Waiting for vendor to get back to me.
Did the vendor ever get back to you? I have the keeplink version of the switch and I was not able to get a copy of the firmware from the vendor.

It shouldn't of touched the bootloader/backup partitions so if you have USB to 3.3V TTY serial adapter you can just hold ESC and power on the switch and it'll go into upload mode at http://192.168.1.1 where you can use the proper firmware update.

Code:
==========Loader start===========
Press any key to start the normal procedure.
To run SPI flash viewer, press [v]
To enforce the download of the runtime kernel, press [ESC] .
  cmd 27
sal_sys_runtime_crc_set
loader start
load MAC from nvcfg
  IP:192.168.1.1
Mask:255.255.255.0
  GW:192.168.1.254
MAC:AA.BB.CC.DD.EE.FF

Hello, how to do such a restart in ZX-SWTG124AS? In my case, only the POWER diode is lit. WHEN THE POWER IS CONNECTED, ALL LEDS WILL FLASH. THE SYSTEM LED DOES NOT TURN ON.

Sys light blinking, this should be solid
ok so I fixed this myself. no amount of holding the reset button will fix this. Here's how I did it

1. Set your computer's IP address to anything that's within the 192.168.1.0 network just go with the default /24 subnet mask
2. open up 192.168.1.1 from your browser and upload the file from here https://cdn.shoplazza.com/8b589a2df28a47bb7c255e3c6a56764b.zip
3. Wait and your switch will reboot. Problem fixed.

Is that an official firmware update or a modified one? :D

I think i have figured out the problem with slow smb speed with sfp+ ports
aparently you have to enable flow control or it causes latency issues

This is broken on the firmware on the sfp+ port

this needs to be chased up with the odm

how have you nerds not noticed this

this ofc makes the 4 + 2 SFP+ unmanaged switches useless for SFP+
these are also useless for SFP+ until this is fixed in firmware

Is it possible to cross-flash devices that "look" similar? Hasivo seems to offer newer firmwares on their web site, while Sodola and Poeplus dont.

SL-SWTGW218AS -> SODOLA 8 Port 2.5G + 10G SFP+, Web, currently on 1.9 (Hardware Version "V1.1") -> is this S1100W-8GT-1SX-S?
S1108GTP-SX-SL -> POEPLUS 8 Port 2.5G + 10G SFP+, POE++, Web, currently on 1.6 (Hardware Version "HS73_V1.05") -> is this S1100WP-8GT-1SX-SE?

Not sure if Flow Control is the solution to your problem. Flow control is for when an interface is congested. It will tell the other end to stop sending for a while. But with a big transfer the link will probably be dropped anyway if the interface is overwhelmed. In the end the problem will need to be handled on the application side, in this case SMB.

Hi! i just received the horaco 2.5GbE Managed Switch 8 Port with SFP+ port. I managed to set it up via direct connection to one eth port, but i cannot reach it anymore as i connect it to my LAN via SFP port.
Anyone had the same issue, or have some ideas about this problem?
I tried to find infos in the forum but no luck.
Many thanks! regards.

I have the same issue with a Xikestor 4+2 switch... I didn't look more into it but I can access the management web UI from any of the RJ45 ports but not from a SFP port.

Hi! Yes the same.
Also tried to reset and connect it with default config, and just default VLAN 1 (of course I set LAN configuration to match my LAN parameter), but it didn't work.
Thanks for your reply!

If you confirm that they indeed use the same hardware, then most likely yes. POEPLUS simply rebrand Hasivo units as far as I know. In fact, POEPLUS support helped me get Hasivo to develop a firmware update for my Hasivo switch and it was pretty clear from our conversation that they didn't have their own firmware development team. Their support team was better than Hasivo's though. :D

I would personally reach out to the support team of the brand of switch you have and ask for the firmware, just in case. If it happens to be POEPLUS, you can probably ask them to confirm whether you can use the firmware Hasivo have released for a particular model.

Regarding Sodola, I think they brand switches from several different OEM manufacturers, not just Hasivo.

Hi! I've seen some of the newer Horaco POE switches wiht integrated power supplies start popping up. Does anyone have experience with these or seen reviews? I'm curious to know how they compare for power consumption against the managed poe switches with separate power bricks.

Can't say I would put any Chinese/noname branded switch on my network.

If something isn't designed in Europe (or Japan, Taiwan or South Korea) I'm probably never going to trust it.

Of the switches in the guide, I'd trust:
- Mikrotik
- Netgear
- QNap

I might be persuaded to trust the following (but I am not there yet)
- Zyxel (hey, I remember them from the modem days!)
- TrendNET (may not be from an authoritarian country, but is synonymous with cheap and disposable garbage tech as far as I am concerned)
- Asustor (Asus is a well known brand, but maybe not for their serious network tech...)

I would not trust any of the rest:
- Davuaz
- Hasivo
- ienRon
- Keeplink
- Mokerlink
- Nicgiga
- Sodola
- Tenda
- TP-Link
- Vimin
- Xikestor
- YuanLey
- YuLinca

The spammy "random product name generator" brands from authoritarian China with derivative copy & paste tech will never find a place on my network. And you ought to really think twice before using them too. They are a significant security risk.

Stick to real brands instead.
Most hardware is now made in China or Taiwan anyway. Once bought a HP printer. My Linux computer detected that the printer was actually made in Taiwan. The only thing HP was the label on the case.
TP-Link is a renowned brand sold here in all shops. Have a TP-Link multi-wan router, 2.5 Gb switch and 3 EAP access points. They are excellent.
The narrative about security issues in Chinese network component like Huawei is unproven accusations. There is not a single proof that they have a backdoor. Huawei equipment has been thoroughly tested in Germany and they are secure and reliable.
At the same time western manufacturers are mandated to build in a backdoor.

Has anyone managed to get trunking working on these switches? I bought some Yuanley on amazon (prime day) managed switches, and it's all working apart from the trunking. Well I don't get 2* the speed on trunking 2*2.5Gb/s, I get often less than 2.5Gb/s using iperf. Cables appear OK.
I've just trunked RJ45 ports, I tried "passive" and "LACP active" (and passive on the other end) not much luck there...

Other than that switches seem OK.

Hi
Did you try speedtest with more than one tcp port or even more than one equipment ? smb3 can uses multiple connections , so can be a good test.
LACP doesn't increase speed over a sinle connection but mantain the connection if one of the trunk fails.
