Only 32%? I've lost 80+% of mine at home, mostly in the 1-2 year range. I ended up preemptively replacing the last half-dozen with used HGST drives; I figured they couldn't possibly be less reliable.

I can certainly sympathize with you as I bought 12 and all 12 failed eventually. I do still have some that are working after RMA though.

The HGST I posted earlier today is a better deal. Sure, they're refurbished, but they're HGST, very reliable, and $42. At that price, I bought spares.

For this price why not get the toshiba(DT01ACA300) 3tb ones?

They are €75 brand new and they are fairing pretty well in the backblaze reports(albeit not the biggest sample size).

HGST are the best! I have a few HGST 3TB and Seagate ST4000DM001 - none have failed so far. Was hoping these 3TB were a new batch and just as good as my 4TB Seagates, but most likely these are all the bad ones Backblaze dumped.

I've got a good few DM001's running since a couple of years without any major issues, heck even my spare's were/are DM001's. For what it's worth, the low price of them a couple of years ago has really paid off.
