I added this item to my eBay watch list, and got an offer of $55.24 for quantity 1, or about $6.90/TB. Only 5 available, but good for somebody who doesn't need a whole rack of disks.
Is there any issue with it?HUH* model numbers == Helium.
Nope, Helium filled is the best of the best! Other manufacturers are now doing it (HGST was the tirst I think, like 8 years ago).Is there any issue with it?
If you can add an sas controller, it's an easy way to step up to these drives. Plus, sas controllers can handle both sata and sas so your existing drives would be usable too (but might not be in the same raid group/volume depending on the controller).too bad they are SAS, I need SATA
It's The STH Effect™ (not actually trademarked, but looks cooler this way, lol)already sold out!
or maybe in this case it's Spartacus Took HGSTs effect, lol.I took 'em . Perfect for my offsite backup server.
I didn't buy is because they didn't even have enough for one array for me. I didn't notice that when I first bookmarked, but when they came back with the offer, I was going to grab 8-12. Since they only had 5 available, I let people here know.I took 'em . Perfect for my offsite backup server.
Good deal!I took 'em . Perfect for my offsite backup server.
Was there a sale? I offered $63 each for 8 and got no response from the seller. I just bit the bullet and paid the $66.49 each.I just bought 8x of these for $62.99 each
That's annoying, since my offer was higher than that. Sure, it's only $30 or so, but still....Didn't get a reply so I sent a 4th offer and about 16 hours after that one expired they sent a counter at 62.99.
