Hey guys -
We got a great deal on some Ultrastar SN260 3.2TB pcie ssd's ($300usd each!) and they are beasts.... but the volume isn't recognized in esxi (6.5 or 6.7, u2, u3 - tried all combinations)... the controller itself is (you see the pcie device as a storage controller).
If I pass the device directly to the vm via pcie passthrough, the vm sees the volume fine.
Tried formatting it manually in 512e, no dice.
Seems, from reading, that there is a later firmware for these which is newer than that which shipped on the device. Does anyone have access to these updated firmware? HGST/WD support has been truly useless on this matter and actually had the gall to close the case saying they only support windows and mac...
