Hi Everyone,
I have 6 HGST SAS drives(got it free) model - HUS156060VLS600. I have never used any SAS drives in the past; hence requesting help from you guys please.
With plans in mind to use them, I bought a SAS card LSI8708EM2. I have installed the card on HP Z400 workstation which has 475w PSU.
When I boot, I can get into the LSI Card bios but cannot see the the SAS drives being identified and also noticed that the HDDs were not spinning at all. The LSI card I bought was from ebay came with the SAS Drive connetor - Mini SAS 36 Pin SFF-8087 to 4 SAS 29 Pin SFF-8482 Cable with 15P SATA Power. Is this the correct cable I am using?
I doubt the SAS drives are faulty. Not sure if this LSI Card needs more powerful PSU ? Would you say this LSI8708EM2 card is not compatible for these SAS HDDs?
What would be your expert suggestion please?
