I actually tried this and each drive synced at it's rated speed, 12G at 12G and 6G at 6G.
Yup, that's what I would expect.

SAS3 expanders should all have databolt, which does store and forward switching -- meaning a slower device doesn't waste link bandwidth upstream to the hba or raid card.

Anyone received their orders from bitdeals.tech? placed my order on Feb 26th. Still not shipped yet. Emailed them for status, unanswered. Should I be worried?
Have you received your drives from bitdeals - how long it took and what you ended up with POH, surface scanning, etc?

They arrived a little over two weeks from ordering, and had around 27,000 POH. No SMART issues and badblocks did not report any errors either.

Thank you, it sounds like they've got the process improved (however, there are just few things "in stock" for ordering).

Spoke too soon.
Have just submitted an order and got nothing - no confirmation, no pending transactions and the website kept glitching.

Those are some good deals.

I've never had a SAS drive though so I don't know if it will work in my system(s).

Does the Supermicro "TQ" backplanes support SAS drives? I would be using the onboard SATA3 ports and 9211s HBAs to connect them.

Order placed on Apr 14 was marked up as shipped on May 3, but never picked up since then and shows as "USPS Awaiting Item".
Have asked Brandon for help to find out what is going on.
