HGST Deskstar NAS - Experiences

Looking for opinions on the HGST Deskstar NAS $229 at amazon which is $8 more than a WD RED: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...e=as2&tag=servecom-20&linkId=FLNLOOAVZ542N5UV

7200 rpm but HGST so is it more of a SE competitor?

WD SE is just a little shy of RE in terms of feature and reliability. SE has 5 year warranty as well. Deskstar NAS only has 3 year warranty and and no where near RE.

I have both SE and Deskstar NAS. I would choose SE every single time when I have $

For RE reference, I had 8 x first gen RE 400 GB drive 6-7 years ago. During the 5 year warranty period, all drives has been replaced with third gen RE 500 GB drives. So the warranty definitely pays off in my case.
