Deal looks to still work to me. Seems to be a limit of 5 drives before the promo stops working though. I was looking at the 6TB of these drives but this might be something I need to bite on.

While that Best Buy deal is a good deal it is limited to 1 external drive you need to shuck, its only a 5400rpm compared to a 7200rpm, and people are saying in that thread you linked that they have to put tape or disable the 3.3v pin on it.

Right after I ordered one 8T, I spotted HGST Deskstar NAS 4TB at $89.99 shipped. Now looks both are dead.
