Doesn't look particularly like a good Deal to me. Not a very bad one, but not really a good one IMHO.

Be aware you will need a SAS HBA + Backplane (or somewhat "Special" Cable) to connect it, when you compare to SATA or NVMe Solutions.

Alternatively to the HBA you will need a Motherboard that has an onboard SAS HBA.

You're probably right, its just I've been looking for high endurance drives and there are crazy people trying to get $160 for these 400GB drives... i think I'm pretty bummed out at how expensive everything has become... Supermicro EPYC motherboards that used to cost $150 a few years ago are now $600 and ssds selling for 3-4x more than they were a few years ago too :(

If you're just looking for high endurance and don't need SAS the Intel s3700 400GB is available for around $70, they're rated to something like 7PB lifetime writes and feature proper PLP. And yes that's quite a price increase from when they were $20 but that's the way it goes.

Besides the Intel SSD listed above, there's also the Samsung SM883. 240GB can be had for $30-$40. "SM" is write endurance using MLC NAND and "PM" are for read endurance.

Been using these as mirrored boot drives for many many years across several serves and clusters.

Bear in mind they are suuuper old drives. 13 years.

Then again they seem to have absurd write endurance. 10DWPD if I read it right.

I have a couple of even older SAS SSDs. Not fast but tough. I used them for temporary and scratch drives and did some chia plotting on them.

EDIT: price is now showing $200. total ripoff.
