I have a Supermicro X11DPU-z+ mother board with has the JIPMB1 header to connect an AOC card with the same 4 pin smb header. This allows communication between the SAS card and the BMC / IPMI . I understand the premise, but the supermicro manual for the AOC-S3008L-L8e lists two part numbers. AOC-S3008L-L8e and AOC-S3008L-L8e+. The + version is supposed to have the 4 pin header for the BMC connection to JIPMB1.
AOC-S3008L-L8e v1.01 has a 4 pin head and a 3 pin header, with the 3 pin header being labeled as the SMB.
AOC-S3008L-L8e+ v2.00 has a 4 pin header only that is labeled J5 UART0. And states on their website: Supermicro 12Gb/s Eight-Port SAS Internal HBA Adapter with IPMI support
None of this makes any sense. Can anyone shed some light on the way these cards connect to the board for IPMI BMC support?
Also, I have never seen an AOC-S3008-L8e with the "+", although I have seen plenty labeled as v2.00.
