Hi guys,

can anyone help me permanently or temporarily change MAC address with U-Boot on Quanta LY2R?

This does not work:
Code:
=> setenv ethaddr CENSORED:AA
=> saveenv
Saving Environment to Flash...
Un-Protected 1 sectors
Erasing Flash...
. done
Erased 1 sectors
Writing to Flash... 9....8....7....69....8....7....6....5....4....3....2....1....done
Protected 1 sectors
QNOS still shows original MAC address.
Code:
(Switch) #show version
Switch: 1

                                                QOS
                                                Multicast
                                                IPv6
                                                Routing
                                                Data Center
                                                OpEN API
                                                Prototype Open API

Some other "FASTPATH" firmware (whathever was on this, before I installed QNOS) showed the changed MAC in OS (show version), but not QNOS. QNOS shows MAC as written in flash.

So I guess saveenv somehow does not save MAC address to flash.

I might be successful in saving the MAC to flash, if I erase that part of flash first.
Any ideas how to find that part of flash?

If anyone cares, I managed to permanently change the mac address. Details can be given in private, if you msg me. It takes quite some effort, but works. :)

Now, if anyone has valid QNOS license for any MAC, please let me know... in private. :) Sadly Quanta won't sell me any for switches I have got, due to EOL, EOW and ODM. :-/
