Hi,
Forgive me if I am overlooking the obvious; I've done a bit of googling and read through a number of threads here, but I am totally confused.
I'm a 10Gig newbie and want to buy two Mellanox ConnectX-2 cards (my servers only support PCI-e 2.0).
There are IBM-branded Mellanox cards on eBay (IBM FRU 98Y2404 / MNPH29D-XSR) that are half the price of the Mellanox-branded cards.
I'm trying to locate a simple, step-by-step guide to be able to flash these with the latest OEM firmware.
I've found one site ( Update Mellanox network adapter firmware - ) that says you need to run the following:
Is that it? I just want to make sure I can figure this out before I pull the trigger... Or should I just spend the extra cash and buy the Mellanox-branded stuff straight away? Or is there something better/more cost effective all together? (Remember I can only do PCI-e 2.0).
Thanks for your help!
