in for 10. Ordered some cheap NGFF adapters from china <$3 each

Note that these are not considered "enterprise"

This drive is commonly found inside Acer Chromebooks.

I look at them more like lower cost potentially better NAND replacements for USB boot drives ESXi, pfSense and etc.

Thinking about it though with the additional cost of the adapters, would you be better off just finding a regular 2.5" sata drive?

Any recommendations on those USB 3 to NGFF adapters he's bundling with some of them?

There's a bunch on eBay for <$20, not sure how to evaluate them though.

I use one to keep the pagefile off my main ssd in my thinkpad(which is sata) so these are useful in laptops as well(a larger one could be used to hold vms if i bothered tracking one down...)

They arrived today.

packaging sucked

Running HDTune against them. First one passes all test but has an insane number of Smart errors under pending sector count. It's probably faulty data. None of the others I've tested have shown this.

As for M.2 adapters. I got them for small embedded projects. Something that those standard 2.5" ssds wont fit in.
