@whitey thanks I got it, and got 2 more on order to try with 'real working' cards I hope this time :)

@rubylaser OEMXS Won't go under $70 I just tried with quantity.. they said 70 was low as they'd go :( Even selling the cables I'd still come out paying >$50/each :( So I'll keep an eye out for some more deals, and if I can't find them grab the INTEL OEM as-needed and not in a deal-lot.

Gotta finish building out a handful more E5/2011 systems and see how many HBAs I fall short :D

I haven't had a chance to test mine yet but based on the feedback in this thread I'm not hopeful that the card will work. Will have to test it this weekend to see if I need to return it or not.

Neither of mine worked out the of the box, and after a bunch of fiddling, I finally got one to work, but I'm not going to trust any of my data to it at this point. I just took the return and ordered a couple new ones.

I decided to do the return and the seller already refunded me and doesn't want the card back. So basically I have a free card now so it's just gravy if it winds up working.

That's probably wise. I think all of these cards were either failed flash attempts or duds, so the seller just wanted to be done with them. Good luck on getting a functional card.

Ah the H310, if i didnt have several already, i would have snagged a few of those bad boys myself. Sorry to hear the problems with the seller and cards. These cards usually work well. Try a clean flash. Something along the lines of sas2flsh -o -e 6.

You might try megarec to see if the card still shows there.

DO you guys have to do the pin cover mod with tape to get it to work? I usually have to do it for mine.
sas2flsh & megarec don't show the cards for me... just the 1st, and only one worked for me. The rest did not. And no, no taping/covering pins needed.

No pin taping needed for me either. Only one card showed up in sas2flash or megarec and even that one didn't register in megacli. It had a failed flash attempt and was in a bad state. It took about an hour of trying different versions of sas2flash to finally flash a working firmware. Now, it's running P20.

I don't have HP's H220 but an Intel card based on LSI2308 flashed to LSI FW. I can check and respond. To be certain, You may want to post the question in the H220 thread so someone who bought that card can respond.

Here is the confirmation on queue depth for Intel RMS25KB080 (HBA based on LSI2308 chip) flashed to LSI IT FW. I'd guess it will be similar with H220.
