About to buy H13SAE-MF. I have not decided if I will go down the route of Ryzen or EPYC 4004. The new Ryzen 9000 launching at the end of thus month look to be same price or cheaper but with anywhere up to 20% performance increase. For my use cases I can't see why I should use EPYC 4004 other than RAM possibly being cheaper???

what RAM is recommended - Only two I have found UDIMM ECC compatible for Ryzen. Does the EPYC 4004 support other sticks?

UDIMM ECC options:

But these both are very expensive, looking for other options

Avoid Nemix ram like the plague, its garbage ram.

48GB modules are going to be super expensive period. I'd consider stepping down to 32GB modules.
Anywhere I can get cheaper 32GB models then? Also what sticks do the EPYC 4004 use

Does anyone know when we may get next EPYC 4004 upgrades to same performance as 9000 series?

The 4004 use ECC Udimm style modules. Not sure what part of the world you live in, but the usual vendors should carry it.

Looks like Ryzen 9000 will be supported by this board.
Do you have any source for this?

Q: Are there any Plans to make Supermicro H13SAE-MF Ryzen 9000 compatible?
A: NO, there is no plan for this MBD to support 9000 Series Processors

Supermicro Support (29th July 2024)

To my knowledge the only AM5 motherboard featuring IPMI and planned Ryzen 9000 support is the ASRock Rack B650D4U (see BETA Bios)

Do you think they wont support it? Any technical reason why they wouldn't

Wtf... Yeah I think this is misinformed support. It would be very unlikely for Supermicro to not support a BIOS update for Ryzen 9000.

That's what I thought, but I don't buy hardware on the basis of speculation.

Facts:

Supermicro H13SAE-MF is at AGESA 1.1.0.2b, means Ryzen 7000/8000 only.
ASRock Rack B650D4U is at AGESA 1.2.0.0, means Ryzen 7000/8000/9000
Gigabyte MC13-LE is at AGESA 1.1.0.2b, means Ryzen 7000/8000 only

Give it some time… Embargo for Ryzen 9000 performance has not even been lifted yet

Does this board support USB4 (40GBPs) - I don’t think it does. I would really like a a board that does have USB4.

I'm still waiting for 9000 support.

I see your post you mentioned it supports 8000 but where did you get that from?

Anyone got any update on when 9000 will be supported?

There is a new BIOS update for the H13SAE-MF that has been released a few hours ago - I have pinged SuperMicro to try and get the release notes so let's see what AGESA is in that.
