Hi all,
I recently bought a Gigabyte MZ32-AR0 Rev 1.0. I only have an epyc 7642, and when I installed in the board and powered up, I got no video both via VGA out or via the BMC. The board originally came with R20 BIOS, and an old BMC firmware (from 2020). After countless attempts, I managed to update the BMC to the latest firmware (12.61.21).

I then proceeded to update the BIOS to R28_F04 using image.rbu file. After also encountering " failed due to verification image fail" countless times, reflashing the BMC, and doing BMC a cold restart finally resulted in successfully flashing R28. However, the board still shows nothing and when I power it on, the LEDs near the ATX power connector all turn solid on, except the CPLD_LED which flashes slowly. I have rflashed the BIOS with R28_F04 a couple more times (successfully), but nothing has changed.

I have tried copying the BIOS image to a USB stick and power with that inserted in the motherboard's rear USB ports without success.

As you can see in the image below, when the Firmware Information page under Maintenance shows only the BMC version, no BIOS version, and the CPLD firmware version is unavailable.

As others have previously pointed, flashing the CPLD requires a RCU file, which Gigabyte doesn't provide for download.

What else can I do?

Did you ever find a resolution for this? I've got exactly the same issue at the moment.

Nope. Wanted to contact Gigabyte to see if they'd be willing to RMA/repair, but haven't found a contact email, nor do they have a portal for RMA. I didn't search much, but what I could find on their site was to "contact the seller of the motherboard"

I contacted Gigabyte and got a copy of the CPLD firmware. Having some success finally, every time I add something additional to the board it seems to POST successfully now after an additional power cycle.

Do you mind sharing some details about how you contacted them?
Mind sharing the CPLD firmware?

with your board serial and many weeks of time, "pls forward this to technichians..." many time until you ask the rigth person there.
at least that's how it was for me when I begged for the CPLD update for the MS33(LGA4677) (6 weeks of talk)
Mind sharing the CPLD firmware?
they get help, take help but no payback. i am thinking to leave here.

Took me a couple of days, but yes I just logged a ticket with their eSupport and asked for the firmware. They said it was at my own risk etc etc etc.

For the record, I always planned to post it here, appreciate the vote of confidence.

Tried flashing the CPLD firmware, update BIOS (again), update BMC, tried two different 7642 CPUs (known working with other MB), and still no POST. Can turn on/off, but that's about it. The motherboard LEDs turn all solid on but the one closest to the 24-pin ATX power blinking slowly.

I'll try my luck with Gigabyte's eSupport and see where that takes me...

I have the same motherboard, and it has tried to display failure too many times, and it may crash in long-term operation. I updated the BIOS B during this period and messed around repeatedly. I have now purchased the AR1 and will try it after it arrives!
