Ok, so my BMC made backup should suit well for the purpose.
@jmenmonicj did you update your BMC to MegaRAC in the meantime? A programmer is always handy. I would double read via a clip the current bios, diff both and keep it safe.
Holding off on the BMC update for now—server tasks are running through Wednesday, in line with the planned maintenance window.
I do not have a programmer on hand right now. Will have to buy one.
afaik all HZ worked for Rome. but like all in the world there could be exceptions.
I am on MegaRAC BMC firmware right now, everything seems to be working as expected.
What looks strange, I made another BIOS fw backup using MegaRAC and it is almost the same but not the same:

Sure, I know, but those differences seem to be related to "whitespace" encoding (of those BIOS settings) or something like that as well:

Another one bites the dust: Since I´ve read about it in this thread I thought I´ll give it a try. Got a 7452 CPU but I´m also stuck with a non-working Rome CPU on this board. BMC was already on 12.61.39. The board shipped with F11b BIOS. Naples 7401 runs just fine with 256GB LRDIMM. Switching to Rome CPU and R23 BIOS nothing - no POST, in SEL no POST codes. Production Code: SN1813602176
Few things I´ve noticed: BIOS on F20d shows MZ31-AR-00 correct. In BMC the fields Product Manufactor and Product Name are empty.
Does anyone have an idea why that is?

normal, is updated if the board is assembled with a chassis backplane etc.
edit: and if you have no POST the BMC can not receive this info.

Bummers - but thanks anyway @RolloZ170. So I guess I picked the wrong seller. User @Dm_R mentioned a modded 18 version he got from the seller. What about asking ram-koenig for a board with a more recent production date based on the SN?

I assumed I would get a HZ board because of the F11b BIOS. So late 2018 is proven to be working? I´ll contact the seller and ask. @RolloZ170 you´ve mentioned earlier you got CLDP update from Gigabyte. Wanna share some info about it?
