If it reboots "almost straight away" then I think it's unlikely to be thermals. My first thought would be PSU.

And, yes, anything that causes your machine to reboot unexpectedly needs fixing even if it only happens under certain circumstances as you never know when you'll hit that in real life.

Only happens during these 2 tests - everything else is good. Could run Cinebench for 24 hours and would be stable. Its quite odd.

VRM OCP triggered. should not happen but happens.
can you check HWinfo for wattage in cinebench ?
and adjust prime95 and y-cruncher to lower load and increase step by step until it reboots...

I have checked HW info during Cinebench and all looks normal.
I have tried lowering the load to single tests I am not sure if you can do single core on those tests.

then same with throttled P95 & yc.

In linux after it reboots, does dmesg -T | grep -i reason say anything useful?

Thanks for all the suggestions so far. I will try the that Linux command @TrevorH when I am next in front of the machine.

@RolloZ170 I am not to sure but I can run cinebench non stop and it works and gives the expected results. I have tried turning off PBO altogether but same thing, reboot in prime95 and y-cruncher. Not sure how I can save power draw figures when it crashes.

I think I am going to try setting it to an eco mode and test at that level next.

just run CBR23 and while it runs HWinfo logs the max. power draw. this is your safe area.
then adjust P95,y-c to only draw that power to know if it is a OCP issue.

I ran 12 hours of prime95 on this board with a 5700x, see post #359 in this thread. No lockups/reboots or other instability issues.

Although I haven't pushed my system (other than that original stress testing), it's been absolutely 100% rock-solid stable. I ran that 5700x for a while, then later switched to a 5750G.

It's been a great board for me, now I wish I hadn't sold the two extras I bought back when they were so cheaply available!

I have also tried running eco mode with ryzen master and setting 45w eco mode via PBO and same thing. Crash on Y-Cruncher and Prime 95. Everything else is good.

My research says that is safe to ignore. Its just the difference between what the CPU and Mobo are reporting.

But it seems like you might have 90% cooling problem ... ie it works 90% of the time, but do you really need to have 100% ?

Im not running y-cruncher or prime95 as part of my normal workload, and I bet you are not going to long run.

If your normal workload is ok why the need to stress test?

I was just asking to see if anyone else had this issue as I thought it might be a board problem.
There is an issue and I don't want it happening out in the real word.

@TrevorH changed the PSU out today but still happening.

I have a friend who is lending me a CPU so I can swap that out to test.. I do think this is the problem.

YEEEEEEES I've been wanting to try this but was not cool with gambling on a 200$ used cpu that might not work with my board. Can you crank all the cores to 100%? Is it stable ? How many sticks of ram? How about just one core to 100% with full boost ? The vrms on this shouldn't be able to handle a full 16 core but if they do I'm buying a 5900xt tomorrow.
